About Us

Chef’s Eating House was founded in 1992 and became a Limited Company in 2003. This family-run café provides takeaway and food delivery services to homes, local businesses, and corporate organisations. The business owns its own catering kitchen from where all its foods are freshly made under the watchful eyes of Owner Chef Alan Draper, who commands over 30 years’ experience in the catering business. We also provide sandwich rounds in our own van.
Chef’s Eating House is located at: Unit C5-C6, The Seedbed Centre, Wyncolls Road, Severalls Ind Park, Colchester, CO4 9HT.
It is registered in England & Wales with Company Reg: 04900499 and VAT Reg: 820928921

Replacement Orders and Refunds

Chef’s Eating House aims to exceed customer expectation by providing quality foods combined with high standard services. All our food is freshly prepared on our premises and quality checked by our Head Chef before leaving the kitchen, however, in the event that you are not satisfied with your order or the quality of the products, please call us immediately and we will arrange to pick up the food and give you a replacement order or a refund. All food ordered from our website is freshly made per order and for consumption on the same day. We hold no responsibility for foods ordered but not consumed within its shelf life.

How do I order goods?

Please complete your order on the website for your convenience. You can also email us at: orders@chefseatinghouse.co.uk or telephone us: 01206 854855 to place an order if you are unable to complete it on the website. For all buffet orders, please order, at the latest, by 2pm the day before your event and please order from our buffet menu. Where possible, we will endeavour to fulfil same-day buffet orders, dependent on fresh supplies. Please ensure to include a telephone number for all orders. If your company would like to hold an account with us, please email info@chefseatinghouse.co.uk.

Cancelling your Order

You can update, abandon or cancel your order at any time before clicking the submit button. Please ensure you are happy with your order before confirming it, as once your order is submitted on our website, you cannot cancel it. If you wish to amend or seek a refund at this stage, for any reason, please contact the Shop Manager immediately by telephone. Once your order has been prepared, we will be unable to refund you any money.

Delivery & Minimum Orders

We apply a minimum order amount of £4.99 (for all orders from within 2 miles from Chef’s Eating House) or £10.00 (for all orders from within 2-3 miles from Chef’s Eating House). Any orders within these zones that do not meet the minimum order amount will be subject to a delivery charge (0-2 miles = £0.99; 2-3 miles = £1.99).

Any orders placed from more than 3 miles away from Chef’s Eating House will default to “Order for Collection”. However, we may happily agree to deliver large orders placed outside of our delivery zone – please do call us to arrange this.

Food Allergens

Chef’s Eating House produces foods in its own catering kitchen where ingredients containing allergens are handled by staff, and where equipment and utensils are used for multiple menu items, including those containing allergens. Although every meal is prepared with care, we cannot guarantee it will be allergen free, even after ingredients have been removed upon request. Card Payment & Transactions

Online orders can be paid for by credit and debit cards. In the shop and our sandwich van, we accept cash payments and credit/debit cards We use third party providers to securely store your payment card information and process your payments. You understand and agree that, when you register a payment card, Chef’s Eating House and its third-party providers may verify that the payment card you registered is valid.
